New Jersey Auto Insurer Speeds Claims Reporting Via Internet

August 15, 2008

The IFA Insurance Company, one the most important auto insurance providers in the state of New Jersey, has unveiled a new, more efficient system of processing customers’ claims earlier today. The company has recently effected several major upgrades to both the front and back-ends of its claims-processing web application, which is used by both agents and customers.

The new, improved on-line claims processing system will greatly increase the speed with which the company’s New Jersey customer base will be able to file their automobile damage claims–and the speed with which IFA will be able to respond to those claims. Furthermore, it keep policyholders better-informed about the status of any claims that they file. This will make life easier for both the policyholders, and IFA’s customer service representatives.

As so often happens with technological innovation, the improvement comes from the complete automations of many tasks that previously required a human presence. With the new system, IFA allows customers to deliver their personal explanation of the claim, plus all the necessary paperwork and requests pertaining to the claim in one convenient bundle over the Internet. This “bundle,” known as the Insured Statement of Loss Package, is a significant improvement over the old system, which required customers to sift through mounds of documentation, and attempt to figure out on their own what information they needed to submit.

After submitting claim in this way, customers can now log onto IFA’s Claim Tracking web application. The application will let users see all the necessary data pertaining to an individual claim, organized by claim. For every claim they file, customers will be able to look at all the important events associated with that claim.

Customers will be able to see the time and date when the Insured Statement of Loss Package was sent to the company; when the Package was received; and when the IFA received the local law enforcement agency’s report, necessary for most claims processing. Customers will also learn the name of the company sent to appraise the dollar amount of the damages; when the company went to appraise the damage; and when IFA received the damage appraisers’ report.
